Unconventional brewery expands with brand new build in DeForest Yards

Supreme Structures built a new craft brewery and taproom for Young Blood Beer Co. within the burgeoning DeForest Yards development. The modern, functional space elevates the customer experience, reflects the client's unconventional brand, and supports complementary growth of both the company and the development. The central challenge was maintaining the project budget without compromising the vision for a high-quality destination brewery. Supreme worked closely with the ownership team and project partners throughout design development to identify cost saving opportunities while protecting critical features, including a rooftop patio overlooking the adjacent outdoor ice rink. The result is an architecturally distinctive building that met both budget and operational goals.

Custom metal trellis at entrance moved from other brewery location
Taproom construction incorporating 18 aluminum storefronts and overhead doors
Large viewing windows from the taproom to the brewhouse
New and relocated brewing equipment installed in cooperation with five trades for minimal production downtime
Grain-cracking room, keg walk-in cooler and loading dock
Kitchen with ample storage, ANSUL fire suppression system and walk-in cooler
Mezzanine, offices and conference room
Five unisex, single-stall restrooms, each with a unique design
Overhead doors provide connection to lower-level patio
Translucent upper patio roof panels that let in nearly 80% of natural daylight
Completed on schedule despite weather-related challenges, delays and lost working days
