Farmers & Merchants Bank
Intended to recall a turn of the century railroad depot, this Jefferson bank project’s design conveys the owner’s pride in the community’s history and vision to create for it a new architectural and economic mainstay. The triangular site presented one serious obstacle to surmount: contaminated soil. The structure is a combination of steel and light gauge metal framing, white oak heavy timber, and wood roof trusses, clad in limestone, brick, western red cedar, and clay roof tiles.
