Watco
New maintenance facility increases locomotive repair efficiency
Supreme Structures built an 18,000 sq ft locomotive maintenance facility for Watco’s Wisconsin & Southern Railroad, designed to improve workflow, safety, and repair efficiency. After three years of planning, site visits, and operational analysis, the team delivered a pre-engineered metal building equipped for heavy-duty locomotive service, including specialized infrastructure for wheel and undercarriage repairs.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Custom drop pit designed to extract, service, and reinstall locomotive wheels
- 25-ton double girder turbo crane installed by bringing components in on a flatbed railcar
