Burke Lutheran Church
Three-phase historic church construction project included relocating a 121 year old, 185 ton sanctuary
Supreme Structures completed a three-phase project for Burke Lutheran Church, helping the historic congregation improve accessibility, expand gathering space, and preserve its 121-year-old sanctuary. The work included a new fellowship building, relocation of the original 1899 church, and carefully integrated renovations that honor the past while supporting future growth.
Watch the relocation:
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- New 5,830 sq ft fellowship hall with gathering space, warming kitchen, nursery, offices, bathrooms and storage
- Demolition of addition and in-by-inch relocation of original 185-ton sanctuary around cemetery that limited expansion from existing location
- 658 sq ft addition connecting the original building and new fellowship hall
- Accessibility improvements including zero-step entrances, new parking, interior ramp to altar, and reconfigured pew layout with center aisle
- Preservation work including removal, protection and reinstallation of historic stained glass
- Structural and interior renovations to enlarge sanctuary and blend old and new construction
- Project completed across three major phases, timed around pandemic-related constraints

TESTIMONIAL
"Thank you so much for making our dream become a reality. In the fall of 2019, Supreme Structures began construction under the leadership of Mike Trapino, who oversaw the project vision, and Mike Chatfield, who oversaw the day-to-day operations. The two Mikes, as they were often referred as, did a fantastic job of communicating with our leadership and helping us understand how all the various pieces were interacting. Thankfully Mike and Mike kept us moving forward during the COVID restrictions doing what they could, when they could. What always impressed me was that when we did have problems, both Mikes were always there to stick up for us and look out for our best interests. At every step of the way, Supreme Structures was there to help us navigate through the process and figure out solutions that kept us as close to the budget as possible. I would definitely recommend Supreme Structures for future building projects."
